Affirm FAQs

Q. How much does it hurt? A. The majority of treatments with the Affirm are performed using the SmartCool air cooling system. Four out of five patients treated with the Affirm system do not request topical anesthesia.

Q. How many passes are needed for a full facial treatment? A. Cynosure’s Affirm system typically requires 1-2 passes to ensure overlap, in addition to enhancing outcomes for the patient and the doctor.

Q. How fast is each treatment? A. One treatment with the Affirm system takes approximately 15-20 minutes. Cynosure recommends 4-6 treatments spaced 3-6 weeks apart.

Q. How quickly will I see results? A. Most patients see significant improvement within 3-4 treatments.

Q. Are there any side effects? A. Short-term side effects can include transient redness, and tan or dusky appearance of the skin.
